We Labor & Strive - Our Hope Set On God

We labor and strive- Our hope set on God.

Bshop. Dr. Geoffrey K. Njuguna.

It is important to understand that labor will always be rewarded- Romans 15:13, 1 Timothy 4:10, Jeremiah 3:16. It takes hard work to achieve anything worthwhile, and complaining about how hard it is won’t make the process any easier. “Live like a slug, and you’ll eat dirt the rest of your life.” So, unless we want to “eat a lot of dirt,” we have to make the decision to get up and put our hands to the plow! If you and I are serious about doing what God has told us to do, we must adjust our level of commitment and get to work. Being a hard worker is a part of being diligent. If you want to see our dreams fulfilled, we must give our full attention to what God has called us to do. It must have our full consideration, our undivided attention, and our full mental and spiritual concentration. When we seriously pursue what God has told us to do, we won’t have time for wrong attitudes and wrong thinking. To remain diligent, we must be engrossed, totally absorbed, and fully engaged. We must immerse ourselves in faith, prayer, and meditation regarding God’s call on our lives. Fickle, erratic behavior will never produce the fulfillment of God’s will in your life. It takes consistency and determination to push aside the powers of hell and obtain the victory you desire. If we constantly fluctuate- wandering back and forth and in and out of faith- we will never reap anything enduring for the Kingdom of God. To produce powerful results, we must be constant in our commitments. We must be “steady-as-she-goes”- fixed, unchanging, and steadfast. It’s all part of being diligent. Persistence is also a key to remaining diligent. When a person is persistent, he refuses to relent.

Withstanding opposition and braving adversity are just a part of the walk of faith. In order for us to resist attempts to abort our dreams, we must be persistent. This is the kind of commitment required to live and walk in faith- Hebrews 11:6. A casual approach will never get you to the triumphant end of the spiritual race God has placed before you. You have to give 100 percent of your focus and energy in order to press through the barriers that will stand against you to keep you from making it to the finish line. Diligence and all that it entails is a requirement for you to get to a place of victory.

It’s essential that you make sure you’re right on track in this area so you can fully accomplish what God has asked you to do. Are you diligent seeking God and His will for your life?

We are called upon to thresh the mountain- unless you do so, the mountain will not move. All the things that stand in the way of desired outcome will become like chaff. Some areas in our lives require more work and effort than others because the ground is harder or we haven’t had the greatest hand in life dealt to us, or simply our personality wiring can tend to lean towards certain priorities. We may be more relationally focused or task focused and sometimes we need to address the areas that are out of balance to see fruit in areas that are lacking. But if we are faithful in our diligence whether that requires us to actively put effort in and physically focus. To “seek the Lord diligently in prayer and study.”  “for answers, we will see the reward of our labors.”- Hebrews 11:6. Diligence in correct priority will lead to see much breakthrough as you partner with the Lord in faith. Poverty is the result of spiritual warfare- Genesis 2:16-17. Abundance- signified by every tree- eat freely- John 10:10. The thief comes to- steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came that we may have- life in abundance- Genesis 3:1-4. Satan is a specialist in twisting words to achieve his objectives and it’s evident that Eve fell in the trap of distorting the word of God.

Eve exaggerated by adding to what God had said- God has not said anything about touching. Adam and Eve had to go through abundance to get to the forbidden tree- 2 Corinthians 2:11, 11:3.

The characteristic of Satanic lies

  • God gave us authority.
  • God gave us an assignment.
  • God gave us abundance.

We lost it through disobedience but Christ recovered it for us when he offered himself as a ransom for our sins.

Satanic strategy to displace you from God’s purpose.

When you are distracted by discontentment and disobedience.

Focusing on lack does not solve lack.

Who in your networks of relationships is your weakness, who can get you to violate God’s law- it could be a parent, a spouse, a child or even a friend? This is the reason we must choose our friends wisely. After Satan gets you to sin, he is no longer a tempter but turns around and becomes an accuser.
